With much joy and hope, the City of Dumaguete lit up the community Christmas Tree at Manuel L. Quezon Park this evening in the presence of conscientious citizens and fellow officials united in prayer for a better year 2023 under the theme “Bayan Ko Ngayong Pasko.”
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo expressed gratitude to all government workers, civic-minded organizations and residents for their industry, resilience and cooperation that helped Dumaguete City to successfully control the spread of the COVID-19 virus allowing mass gatherings and business operations to resume with minimum health standards.
The Dumaguete Quartet, Rain Shally Enero and the Silliman University Campus Choristers enriched the celebration with their excellent renditions of classic Christmas songs.
Also present are Councilors Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Maria Marife Cordova and Rey Lyndon Lawas, City Administrator Lilani Ramon, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores, SK President Renz Macion, City Tourism Officer Jacqueline V. Antonio and department heads along with families and groups of friends who were excited to partake in the ceremony that ushers in the Yuletide season.
Pasko sa Dumaguete is presented by the Local Government of Dumaguete through the Dumaguete City Tourism Office, Christmas Tree design by Foundation University College of Fine Arts, Christmas Tree Construction by the Dumaguete City Engineer’s Office, Christmas Tree Craftsmen, Film and animation by City Public Information Office and the Technical Crew of Net Solutions.
