About 155 contingents will be joining this late afternoon’s 74th Charter Day Civic-Military Parade in the major streets of Dumaguete City with the theme “Glitter and Sparkle: Gearing Towards Dumaguete’s Diamond Jubilee.”
The contingents will be led by Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo, Vice-Mayor Ma. Isabel Sagarbarria, other officials and employees of the government.
Also joining the parade are the different public and private schools, national agencies, civic-society organizations and private companies.
City Traffic and Management Office Chief Gilbert Ablong Sr. hereby notifies the public that the following streets and major thoroughfares in downtown Dumaguete will be adjusted and modified as it will be affected by the 74th City’s Charter Anniversary Civic Parade on Thursday, 24th November 2022 starting at 5:00 O’clock in the afternoon, as follows:
1. A portion of Perdices Street, bounded by Silliman Avenue and Pinili Street
2. A portion of Rizal Avenue. Bounded by Silliman Avenue and Pinili Street
3. A portion of Flores Avenue, bounded by Looc By Pass Road and Silliman Avenue
4. A portion of Sta. Catalina Street, Bounded by San Juan and Pinili Street
5. A portion of Hibbard Avenue, Bounded by Silliman Avenue and Katada Street
6. A portion of Silliman Avenue, Bounded by Ma. Cristina Street and Rizal Avenue
7. A portion of San Juan Street, bounded by Rizal Avenue and Ma. Cristina Street
8. The whole stretch of Noblefranca Street
9. A portion of San Jose Street, Bounced by Rizal Avenue and Ma. Cristina Street
10. A portion of Dr. V. Locsin Street, bounded by Rizal Avenue and Ma. Cristina Street
11. A portion of Surban Street, bounded by Rizal Avenue and Ma. Cristina Street
12. A portion of Colon Street, Bounded by Rizal Avenue and Mabini Street
13. The whole stretch of Tan-Pedro Street
14. The whole stretch of Burgos Street
To avoid delay in travel, the riding public is advised to take the following alternative routes during the aforementioned activity:
1. From the south to north directions – Please take Real Street and Veterans Avenue or Larena Drive;
2. From the north to south directions – Please take Veterans Avenue or Larena Drive
All Southbound trucks and larger vehicles from the north portion of Dumaguete City are re-routed towards Macias Highway via West Rovira Road, Larena Drive, VG Sinco Road (Palinpinon Road), Bagacay-Batinguel Road passing BIR and Banica Bridge towards Romero Road (Dgte-Valencia Rd)
For Northbound trucks and larger vehicles are advised to take Perdices-Calindagan Road, Sta. Rosa Street, Real Street and Veterans Avenue.
