Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo shared the inspiring success of Dumaguete City controlling the spread of COVID-19 pandemic while ensuring continuous delivery of public service and assistance to the affected residents and guests during the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary organized by Civil Service Commission Regional Office VII led by Director Carlos A. Evangelista in Cebu City, recently.
Mayor Remollo, who was also conferred as Disiplina Muna Regional Champion/Ambassador of the “Bida ang May Disiplina: Solusyon sa COVID-19” Advocacy campaign by the Department of Interior and Local Government, shared the best practices adopted by the City Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases in achieving the highest COVID-19 vaccination rate in Central Visayas by inoculating more than 80% of the eligible population and for being one of the cities that was among the first to be downgraded to Alert Level 1 allowing it to fully reopen the local economy.
Meanwhile, Dumaguete City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla is also with Mayor Remollo as she will be awarded by the Civil Service Commission as one of the Regional Winners for the 2022 Search for Outstanding Government Workers for the Dangal ng Bayan Individual Category for her outstanding leadership in controlling the COVID pandemic in tandem with Mayor Remollo.
Nevertheless, Mayor Remollo reminds citizens and guests to remain vigilant and follow the minimum health standards against COVID-19 while expressing his profound gratitude to the health workers and other frontliners for their dedicated service that helped control the spread of the virus and for taking care of those infected.
The nationwide month-long (October 2022) celebration of the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary adopted the theme “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes.”
