Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo was invited to speak before a gathering of fellow outstanding government officials and employees in Cebu City to share Dumaguete City’s experience and success in controlling the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and ensured that the delivery of public service continues despite the challenges.
The event is organized by the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VII led by Director Carlos A. Evangelista in line with the celebration of the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme: “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes.”
Mayor Remollo shares the best practices adopted by the City Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases, which he chairs, that resulted in Dumaguete City achieving the highest COVID-19 vaccination rate in Central Visayas by inoculating more than 80% of the eligible population and for being one of the cities that was among the first to be downgraded to Alert Level 1 allowing it to fully reopen the local economy.
Dumaguete City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla is also with Mayor Remollo as she will be awarded by the Civil Service Commission as one of the Regional Winners for the 2022 Search for Outstanding Government Workers for the Dangal ng Bayan Individual Category for her outstanding leadership in controlling the COVID pandemic in tandem with Mayor Remollo.
