Farmers from the different barangays in Dumaguete City gathered at the Bagacay Gymnasium this morning to showcase the newly harvested farm products and receive the sustained support of the local government officials and the Department of Agriculture.
Councilor Franklin D. Esmeña Jr., Deputy Mayor for Agriculture, (representing Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo) reiterated the administration’s strong support to the agriculture sector through the various programs and projects to help local farmers thrive and encourage more community gardens that will help boost food security.
In line with the event’s objective, Councilor Esmeña led the distribution of garden inputs essential to urban barangays with OIC-City Agriculturist Maria B. Umbac and Punong Barangays of the recipients.
Among the recipients of the garden inputs for urban barangays are the different associations with their respective Presidents and Kagawads, to wit:
