City Schools Division Superintendent Gregorio Cyrus R. Elejorde confirmed that about 35, 574 students are enrolled in both private and public elementary and high schools of Dumaguete City.
This was confirmed during the meeting of the Local School Board yesterday in the office of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo with Councilor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Deputy Mayor for Education; Councilor Jose Victor Imbo, members of the Local Finance Committee and other officials of Deped Dumaguete City.
Of the 35, 574 total number of students in basic education: 25, 621 are enrolled in the public schools while 9, 847 are in the private schools.
The members of the Local School Board were also given an update of the fire incident in West City Elementary School, the status of the procurement of building construction and realignment of selected infrastructure projects.
