Over a thousand government officials and employees joined the nationwide opening salvo of the 122nd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary led by the City Government of Dumaguete in solemn but festive rites this morning at the Presidencia grounds.
Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo, Vice-Mayor Ma. Isabel Sagarbarria and CSC Region 7 Director IV Carlos A. Evangelista led the traditional Monday flag raising ceremony while City Chief-of-Police P/Lt. Col. Joeson B. Parallag recited the Panunumpa sa Watatwat and City Administrator Lilani L. Ramon, J.D. for the Panunumpa ng Lingkod Bayan joined in unison by the assembled officials and employees.
The esteemed keynote speaker of the event CSC Chairperson Karlo Alexei B. Nograles was introduced by Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo broadcasted live nationwide via zoom that was made possible in coordination with CSC and the City Human Resource Management Office headed by Dr. Dinno T. Depositario, J.D.
Chairperson Nograles commended Mayor Remollo and the Local Government Unit of Dumaguete for hosting the annual event observed by all civil servants across the country. He extolled the resilience and dedication of government officials and employees coupled with their enthusiasm to continuously improve the service.
The Dumaguete City officials also warmly greeted Chairperson Nograles, who celebrated his birthday last Saturday.
Among the officials present are Councilor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Councilor Agustin Miguel Perdices, Councilor Bernice Anne Elmaco, Councilor Rey Lyndon Lawas, Councilor Jose Victor Imbo, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie D. Amores, SK President Renz Macion, CSC Negros Oriental and Siqujior Provincial Director Merlinda Flores-Quillano, department heads, including the personnel from the Dumaguete City Police Station, Bureau of Fire Protection and other employees.
The Civil Service Commission introduced last year a 10-year overarching theme “Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes.”
