Several seasonal workers from Dumaguete City were given a day off so they could meet with Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and his delegation so the latter will be appraised of their working conditions in the farms of Yeongdong, South Korea so that proper representations and courses action will be taken to promote their interests and welfare.
Mayor Remollo and the other city officials also accompanied the seasonal workers as they toured the popular Yeongdong Wine Tunnel that includes several attractions for entertainment and appreciation of the local wine industry that is widely patronized in South Korea.
Former Yeongdong Mayor Park Se-bok also briefly joined the lunch hosted by Mayor Remollo for the seasonal workers before they returned to their work sites.
The schedule and requirements for applicants of the next batch of seasonal workers will be publicly announced once finalized and approved by the authorities.
