Two (2) senior citizens, including a 96-year-old grandfather, are among the 6 new COVID-19 cases reported today.
However, 8 COVID-19 patients have recovered and been released from isolation on the same day (Wednesday).
There are currently 12 active COVID-19 cases with 5, 859 recoveries and 167 deaths since Dumaguete City was affected by the pandemic from January 30, 2020 to August 17, 2022.
Among the 8 newly recovered COVID-19 patients are 2 children, a health worker, a waiter, an STL teller and 3 residents of Barangays Taclobo, Daro and Tabuc-tubig.
Per DOH guidelines, those who tested positive of COVID-19 who are fully vaccinated will be released from isolation and considered recovered 7 days after the first manifestation of symptoms and no longer symptomatic.
