Dumaguete City joins the national celebration of the 44th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week with an opening salvo and program attended by members of the PWDs associations, advocates and government officials at the Pantawan People’s Park, Rizal Boulevard this afternoon.
Councilor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, representing Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo, reiterated the City Government’s resolve to protect and promote the interests of the PWDs by implementing policies that will facilitate access to education, health care, livelihood and development of their talents so they will become contributing members of the community.
Prior to the program, the PWDs and their families, employees of the City Social Welfare and Development Office led by Lilibeth Filipinas, barangay officials and other advocates heard mass and joined the motorcade before the program commenced.
