Department of Labor and Employment Undersecretary Victor A. Del Rosario paid a courtesy call on Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo yesterday to discuss more joint livelihood projects that will benefit the residents of Dumaguete City.
Mayor Remollo also briefed Undersecretary Del Rosario of the ongoing and upcoming projects that will develop the city in terms of infrastructure development, attract more investments and create jobs.
Currently, PESO Dumaguete works closely with DOLE in the implementation of projects that provide employment to residents such as Life Skills Training course, Job Start, Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers, Special Program for Employment of Students and various recruitment activities both domestic and overseas.
DOLE is also looking at the possibility of constructing its own field office at the E.C. Ouano Sr. Complex in Barangay Bajumpandan to better serve the public.
Present during the courtesy call yesterday were City Public Employment Service Office Manager Ma. Socorro P. Mira, Sangguniang Kabataan President Renz Macion and Supervising Labor Employment Officer Ma. Teresa Tanquiamco.
Undersecretary Del Rosario is in Dumaguete City to participate in the 2022 Regional Mid-Year Performance Assessment Cum Congress spearheaded by DOLE Regional Office VII.
