About 30 nurses and doctors of the City Health Office completed the 2-day Basic Life Support conducted by the Philippine National Red Cross Negros Oriental Chapter at the residence of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, which serves as a refresher course for the City Health Workers so they can give proper and immediate care to cardiac, respiratory and choking victims.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla said that the training, which concluded today, will further equip the health workers with the necessary skills to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Rescue Breathing (RB) on an adult, child or infant to save lives.
The refresher training includes lecture-discussion and demonstration on emergency action principles, cardiac emergencies, airway and breathing emergencies with written and skills exams that must be passed by the participants.
