Dumaguete City health workers continue to reach more eligible and interested residents particularly the elderly and the PWDs through house-to-house vaccination drive against COVID-19 in the barangays that includes the administration of 1st and 2nd booster shots.
This is in compliance with the directive of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo to vaccinate interested residents who are not able or prevented from coming to the vaccination sites to further control any outbreak of COVID-19 infection and prevent deaths.
As the number of vaccinated individuals continues to increase way beyond the 80.67% goal for herd immunity set by the Department of Health, there is also a noted decline of COVID-19 cases to almost zero.
Thus, the National IATF-MEID classified Dumaguete City under Alert Level 1 allowing most business establishments, transport sector and religious gatherings to resume their operations or activities in full capacity while observing the minimum health standards.
