Officials from the Department of Education Central and Regional Offices confer with Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Monday, for the updates in the preparation for the country’s hosting of the 12th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Schools Games to be held in Dumaguete City.
The delegation from the Department of Education who attended yesterday’s meeting includes Undersecretary Atty. Revsee Escobedo; Region 7 Director Dr. Salustiano Jimenez; Cesar Abalon, Chief, Schools Sports Division Central Office; Tom Pastor, Chief, SGOD Region 7 and Marivic Tolitol, Assistant Chief, School Sports Division Central Office who presented options and other concerns for inputs of Mayor Remollo and Councilor Michael Bandal to ensure a successful hosting of this international sports competition featuring the best student-athletes in the ASEAN region.
ASEAN Schools Games is an annual sports event featuring about 5, 250 student-athletes and other members of the delegations from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Brunei Darussalam, Laos, the Philippines, Singapore, and Indonesia who will compete in athletics, swimming, archery, badminton, volleyball, sepak takraw, table tennis and basketball.
