Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo commends and manifests his support to the 4 members of the Football Kings United-Dumaguete who were among the 15 out of 132 players from around the country selected to join the training camp of the Philippine Team that is expected to compete in the Asian Football Federation (AFF) Under-16 Boys Championship 2022 in Indonesia on July 21 to August 13, 2022.
The 4 outstanding footballers deemed by the coaching staff of the Philippine Team as among the 15 athletes who are “technically and tactically sound for the next round of training” are Francis Gabriel O. Maturan of Negros Oriental Montessori International School, John Mekhi L. Lagahit of Jose B. Cardenas Memorial High School in Canlaon City and Aaron Nathan D. Dionaldo and Julio Antonio B. Yoldi of Silliman University.
All 4 athletes experienced competing in major regional, national and international football tournaments that impressed the coaching staff and leadership of the Philippine Football Federation which handled the recent series of tryouts for the different associations to select the best representatives who will be trained further to represent the national team.
Football Kings United Head Coach Andy Mananquil expressed gratitude to his players, coaching staff Damian Nocete and Henry Craig Schmidt, Team Manager Richard C. Maturan, NOSIRFA President Engr. Elmer M. Gallardo, Canlaon Hijos Football Club Coach Abundio A. Lagahit Jr. who is also the father of John Mekhi, Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo, provincial government and all the sponsors for their continued support especially to the 4 players who will be joining upcoming training camp.
