Another batch of 33 young artists from the different barangays showcase their acting prowess, a product of their participation in the 3-day Basic Theater Arts Workshop held at Plaza Maria Luisa Suites Inn, which culminated Wednesday afternoon.
Local Youth Development Officer Tigie James Tanilon, whose office organized the workshop, reiterated the objective of the training exercise as a means to maintain a core group of theater artists that can assist the different programs, activities and advocacies of the City Government of Dumaguete under the leadership of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo through their passionate theater performances and colorful creations.
On the other hand, SK Federation President Renz Macion recognized the Local Youth Development Office for its consistent efforts to engage young people so they can express and harness their talents and potentials with emphasis on the use of arts to manifest love of country and civic-mindedness.
The City Government also commends eminent local art coaches Aiza P. Aranas and Lord Kent P. Mariño faculty members of Calindagan Elementary School and Junob National High School, respectively, for sharing their knowledge and expertise in guiding the young artists improve their acting skills.
