Fifteen thousand five hundred twenty-seven (15, 527) eligible residents in Dumaguete City have already received booster shots against COVID-19.
Of this number, 1, 093 have gotten their 2nd booster shots at the City Health Office in accordance with the guidelines of the Department of Health that for now only limits it to frontline healthcare workers, senior citizens (60-years-old and above) and immunocompromised populations.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla also reports that some 201, 516 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have already been administered to 92, 984 eligible residents (including those who got their booster shots) using Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm, Pfizer and the single dose Janssen jabs as of June 7, 2022.
Dumaguete City, obtained the highest vaccination rate of 141.56% in Central Visayas exceeding the 80.67% goal for herd immunity set by the Department of Health after the City Health Office, Provincial Health Office and hospitals vaccinated a combined 157, 619 residents and workers, which is much higher than the target of 111, 348 individuals.
