Presidential Communications Secretary Martin M. Andanar of the National Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases clarifies that Dumaguete City is among the 6 towns or city placed under Alert Level 1 in Negros Oriental from June 1 to June 15, 2022.
The other towns under Alert Level 1 are Amlan (Ayuquitan), Bacong, Dauin,) Valencia (Luzurriaga) and Zamboanguita.
Based on the National IATF guidelines areas under Alert Level 1 will have no restrictions in terms of indoor and outdoor capacities for business establishments and everyone can undertake intrazonal and interzonal travel without regard to age and even comorbidities.
Meanwhile, the lone COVID-19 case reported last Friday is a fully vaccinated 59-year-old widow from Barangay Candau-ay and was initially admitted to the hospital for diarrhea and vomiting.
The widow’s only close contacts are her 2 daughters: one works online and the other works in a BPO company.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla said that the latest COVID-19 case, which was recorded after almost 2 months of zero cases, will be discharged from the hospital soon while her close contacts, who are fully vaccinated and asymptomatic, will be released from quarantine tomorrow.
