Teams from Luzon captured the championship and dominated the top three places of the National Invitation Volleyball Competitions that concluded today at the Foundation University Gymnasium.
Sangguniang Kabataan President Renz Macion, who represented Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo during the awarding ceremony, commended the 10 participating high schools for their passion and commitment to sportsmanship.
Macion expressed optimism that the winning high school volleyball teams will bring more honor and pride as they will represent the Philippines in the upcoming ASEAN Schools Games to be held also in Dumaguete City this November 2022.
After 3 full days of action, the following are the winning teams:
Volleyball Boys Category:
1st Place – Sta. Rosa City Division
2nd Place – National University
3rd Place – Umingan Central High School
Volleyball Girls Category:
1st Place – California Academy-Antipolo
2nd Place – Bacolod Tay-Tung High School
3rd Place – National University
City Schools Division Superintendent Gregorio Cyrus Elejorde commended the City Government of Dumaguete led by Mayor Remollo, Department of Education, the Philippine National Police, Foundation University, Bureau of Fire Protection and all other agencies who were instrumental in the successful and safe conduct of the national sport event.
The 10 participating schools were Davao National High School, National University, Living Stone International School, Umingan High School, Leyte National High School, Kings Montessori of Quezon City, Bacolod Taytung High School, California Academy, Region 7-Dumaguete City and Sta. Rosa City Division.
