All 10 participating public and private high schools across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao joined the opening ceremony of the National Invitational Volleyball Competition hosted by the City Government of Dumaguete with the games to be played at the Foundation University Preparatory Academy Gymnasium.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, who is represented by Chief-of-Staff Dr. Dinno T. Depositario, welcomed all the athletes, coaches, tournament officials, guests and the top officials of the Department of Education to the 4-day competition among the country’s best volleyball teams that may be selected to represent the Philippines in the upcoming 12th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Schools Games also to be held in Dumaguete City this November 2022.
Among the participating schools that will compete in this week’s tournament from May 25-27, 2022 at the Foundation Preparatory Academy Yellow Court in Dumaguete City are: Davao National High School, National University, Living Stone International School, Umingan High School, Leyte National High School, Kings Montessori of Quezon City, Bacolod Taytung High School, California Academy, Region 7-Dumaguete City and Sta. Rosa City Division.

7:30 AM Kings Montessori vs. National University (Girls)
9:00 AM Bacolod Taytung vs. Davao City (Girls)
10:30 AM Davao City vs. Living Stone (Boys)
12:00 NOON National University vs. Dumaguete RO7 (Boys)
1:30 PM Leyte National High School vs. Kings Montessori (Girls)
3:00 PM California Academy vs. Bacolod Taytung (Girls)
4:30 PM Sta. Rosa Division vs. Davao City (Boys)
6:00 PM Umingan National High School vs. National University (Boys)
Tickets to watch the games are free and available at the Deped City Schools Division Office in Barangay Taclobo. But in keeping with the minimum health standards against COVID-19, only a maximum of 200 spectators will be allowed in the designated area of the playing venue.
The City Government of Dumaguete in partnership with the Deped City Schools Division is fully committed to ensure that the national tournament for the country’s best volleyball players among all the high schools will be safe and successful.
