Civil works for the proposed 2-Storey Department of Interior and Local Government City/Provincial Operations Office will soon commence at E.C. Ouano Sr. Complex in Barangay Bajumpandan following the ground breaking ceremony yesterday.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, DILG-7 Regional Director Leocadio Trovela and Provincial Director Farah Diba Gentuya led the ceremony attended by other city and barangay officials.
Director Trovela expressed his appreciation to Mayor Remollo and the City Government of Dumaguete for providing the lot required for the new building that will house the administrative staff and Local Government Operations Officers of Dumaguete City and Negros Oriental.
A training center for Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials will also be constructed to serve as a venue for the capacity development workshops and seminars for the local officials so they can better serve their constituencies and improve government service.
Among the officials present during the ground breaking ceremony are the members of the Ouano family, Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Councilors Michael Bandal, Edgar Lentorio Jr., Lilani Ramon and Manuel Patrimonio, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores, former Vice-Mayor Woodrow Maquiling Sr. and appreciative residents of Barangay Bajumpandan.
