Almost 500 job applicants for local and overseas employment participated in last Saturday’s first face-to-face Job Fair at Robinson Place Dumaguete and 458 of them were interviewed by the 16 participating establishments.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino and Councilor Michael Bandal commended the City Public Employment Service Office led by Maria Socorro P. Mira, Department of Labor and Employment, TESDA, POEA, OWWA and the participating establishments for collaborating once more to provide opportunities to those seeking jobs as the local economy re-opens under the new normal.
Based on the Job Fair consolidated report, there were 4, 789 available job vacancies; 458 were interviewed and 255 were found to qualified applicants; 31 were hired on the spot dozens of others were referred to TESDA for skills training.
