Hundreds of councilors from the cities and municipalities of Negros Occidental converged in Dumaguete City for the 3-day End-Term Assembly and Capacity Development Program and Awarding Ceremony presided by Board Member Ryan Milos Romeo M. Gamboa, PCL Provincial President.
Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino spoke before the assembly yesterday to welcome the delegates, who chose the City of Gentle People as the venue of the conference over Palawan or Boracay.
In his remarks, Mayor Remollo introduced the feasibility of inter-connecting the major roads and highways of both Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental to cut travel time and spur immense economic growth in Negros Island and the Visayas regions.
Board Member Gamboa, a former news anchor of ABS-CBN and ANC, expressed gratitude to Mayor Remollo, Vice-Mayor Tolentino-Maxino, Councilors Lilani Ramon and Michael Bandal for the warm welcome and the inspirational messages conveyed to the delegates.
The theme of the assembly “PCL Negros Occidental Strengthening Bond Through Unity in Adversity, One PCL, Bringing Negros Occidental to the Next Level” aims to inspire the members to continue with their duties and responsibilities and strive to be better leaders to triumph over the COVID-19 pandemic.
