Advocates of women empowerment in both the private and public sectors led by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo enthusiastically joined this morning’s opening salvo of the 2022 National Women’s Month celebration that started with a motorcade and concluded with a program at the Pantawan People’s Park.
With the slogan “We Make Change for Women” the City Government of Dumaguete and other agencies reiterate their commitment to promote and protect women’s rights more than ever to build a progressive and inclusive nation for all regardless of gender.
Mayor Remollo lauded the invaluable and numerous contributions of women of all professions and backgrounds in nation building, particularly those in the frontline against COVID-19 and serving as the breadwinners of their families.
Among those who joined the opening ceremony are Councilor Lilani Ramon, Calindagan Punong Barangay Maisa Sagarbarria, Councilor Manuel Patrimonio, Poblacion 8 Punong Barangay Maelyne Rose Mariano former Councilor Samuel Dicen, barangay officials, department heads, VAW Desk Officers, Personnel of the Dumaguete City Police Station, KALIPI Women’s Federation, leaders and members of the different women’s organizations.
