The City Social Welfare and Development Office and concerned barangay officials distributed today the financial assistance to the 598 families/households whose homes or farm products were damaged at the height of Typhoon Odette last December 16, 2021.
The recipients went to the barangay halls to claim the cash aid duly documented and monitored by the Department of Interior and Local Government and Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo approved the distribution of financial assistance based on the verified list of families/households submitted by the barangay officials, agricultural technicians and social workers with proof that their homes and farm products were destroyed by Typhoon Odette last December 16, 2021 so they can repair their damaged homes and help the affected farmers recover.
According to City Social Welfare and Development Officer Lilibeth Filipinas a total of P 2, 373, 000 downloaded funds from the national government to the LGU were given to the identified families with damaged houses or farm products at P 1, 000 for each affected individual but not more than P 5, 000 per family in accordance to the guidelines of Local Budget Circular #141, 3.4 of the Department of Budget and Management.
