City health workers, including doctors and nurses dressed in cartoon characters or superheroes, administered the COVID-19 vaccines (Pfizer) to 171 children between the ages 5-11 years-old at Robinson’s Place Dumaguete during the nationwide rollout today.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo commended City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla and her staff for being resourceful enough in preparing treats and for decorating the vaccination site with balloons and other colorful cut outs of Disney characters to entertain the kids as they wait for their turn.
All the children, who were accompanied by their parents or guardians, were given goodies placed in loot bags or lunch boxes much to their delight.
Dr. Talla acknowledged the contributions of the sponsors namely Jollibee Foods Corporation, SK President Renz Macion and World of Fun for sharing their goods and resources to the children.
The vaccination of children will resume on Monday (February 21, 2022).
