Top officials of the Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority led by Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña conducted a joint site inspection with Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and other city officials to check the progress of the ongoing construction of the Provincial Training Center inside the Eco-Park and MRF compound in Barangay Candau-ay yesterday.
Pursuant to the Deed of Usufruct between signed by Mayor Remollo and Secretary Lapeña, TESDA has been authorized to utilize the 10,000 square meter lot owned by the City Government in Barangay Candau-ay for the construction of the training center for the next 25 years.
Once completed, this first-ever training center in Negros Oriental aims to produce men and women with the appropriate skills as certified by TESDA for employment opportunities here and abroad.
Mayor Remollo and Secretary Lapeña were accompanied during the site visit by Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Councilors Lilani Ramon and Edgar Lentorio Jr. TESDA Deputy Director General Lina C. Sarmiento, Chief-of-Staff Director Juliet O. Orozco and Region 7 Director Gamaliel B. Vicente Jr.
