The City of Dumaguete will likely be selected again as one of the local testing centers for the next bar examinations if the Supreme Court decides to administer it in the same manner as this year.
The team from the Supreme Court, which managed the recently concluded 2020/2021 Bar Examinations here in Dumaguete City, met Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo to personally express their appreciation to the assistance provided by the Local Government Unit for the safe and orderly conduct of the exams.
In consonance with the request of the Supreme Court, Mayor Remollo deployed the necessary personnel and other resources for traffic management, police assistance, and enforcement of health protocols including the cooperation of the barangays for the entire duration of the exam.
And because of the successful conduct of the exam here, the team will recommend to the Supreme Court that Silliman University in Dumaguete City will once again be considered as one of the local testing centers for the digitalized, proctored and localized administration of the bar examinations.
Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Caguioa, a law school classmate of Mayor Remollo, is slated to be the Chairperson of the next Bar Examination.
Among those present during the meeting with Mayor Remollo last Monday, arranged by Assistant City Administrator Dr. Dinno Depositario, were Area Team Leader Atty. Maria Victoria A. Tiangco, Assistant Area Team Leader Atty. Rogelyn Adalid-Mendiola, Venue Coordinator Atty. Devery Jean Tumilba, Security Team Head Norman Magat and Leopoldo Blanco III of the City Human Resource Office.
