Nineteen [19] COVID-19 patients have already recovered while 9 new cases and 1 death were confirmed today by the City Health Office.
With this development, the number of active COVID-19 cases dropped to 140 with 5, 332 recoveries and 156 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to February 6, 2022.
The 19 recoveries are residents of Barangays Bagacay [2], Banilad [1], Bantayan [1], Bajumpandan [1], Cadawinonan [1], Camanjac [1], Candau-ay [1], Cantil-e [1], Daro [2], Motong [2], Piapi [2], Pulantubig [1], Taclobo [1] and Talay [2].
Meanwhile, the 9 new COVID-19 cases include 3 senior citizens, 1 health worker, 2 children and 3 other persons with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness.
An 89-year-old infected with COVID-19 is the latest fatality who died while in the hospital.
Of the 140 active COVID cases, 41 are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office and 99 are admitted in the hospitals.
