The Dumaguete City National High School will be a recipient to the much needed electrical upgrade after Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo approved the budget of P 1 million to undertake the project that will provide adequate power to the additional buildings and facilities of the school and help ensure the safety of students and faculty.
According to Engr. Rodolfo Eparwa of the City Engineer’s Office, the electrical upgrades would include the conversion from single phase to 3 phase supply line using the 3 new transformers to prevent overloading and minimize fire hazards.
Dumaguete City National High School Principal Alden Rabina said that electrical upgrade must be implemented so that the power supply needs of the newly constructed school buildings, ICT laboratories and classrooms due to the ever growing student population will be met.
Mayor Remollo has allocated P 62.2 million for the construction of 9 school buildings in 7 public schools this year along with the electrical upgrade for the Dumaguete City National High School worth P 1 million and improvement of covered stage at Cadawinonan Elementary School at P 500, 000.
