Eight [8] health workers, 5 senior citizens (a 92-year-old being the oldest) and a pregnant woman are among the 37 new COVID-19 cases confirmed today by City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla.
However, 51 COVID-19 patients have recovered and released from isolation also today, Wednesday.
There are 124 active COVID-19 cases with 5, 222 recoveries and 155 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present February 2, 2022.
Thirty-six (36) newly confirmed COVID-19 cases are persons with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness and while 1 individual initially tested positive in the antigen swab test.
The 37 new COVID-19 cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay [2], Bajumpandan [1], Banilad [3], Bantayan [4], Batinguel [3], Buñao [1], Cadawinonan [4], Camanjac [2], Candau-ay [1], Cantil-e [2], Daro [5], Junob [1], Looc [1], Motong [2], Piapi [1], Poblacion 1 [2], Poblacion 7 [1] and Pulantubig [1].
Meanwhile, the most number of COVID-19 recoveries were recorded in Barangays Bagacay [7] and Batinguel [7] while the others are from Barangays Tabuctubig [6], Looc [5], Camanjac [5], Taclobo [4], Balugo [3], Banilad [3], Bantayan [3], Candau-ay [2], Daro [2], Piapi [2], Mangnao [1], Pulantubig [1] and Cantil-e [1].
Of the 124 active COVID cases, 91 are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office while 33 are confined in the city’s 5 hospitals.
