The number of active COVID-19 cases dropped significantly to 142 after the City Health Office reported 144 recoveries but with 33 new cases and 1 death today.
The most number of recoveries are residents of Barangays Daro [22], Taclobo [17] and Bajumpandan [16] the others are from Barangays Bagacay [6], Banilad [9], Bantayan [9], Batinguel [10], Buñao [3], Calindagan [7], Camanjac [5], Candau-ay [5], Junob [6], Looc [3], Mangnao [2], Motong [3], Piapi [8], Poblacion 2 [1], Poblacion 3 [1], Poblacion 5 [1], Poblacion 7 [1], Pulantubig [7] and Talay [4].
Among the 144 recoveries are senior citizens (a 96-year-old being the oldest) and 18 children (a 9-month-old baby as the youngest) will now be released from isolation.
Meanwhile, the 33 new COVID-19 cases are residents of Barangay Bagacay [5], Balugo [1], Banilad [4], Batinguel [8], Cadawinonan [1], Camanjac [2], Daro [3], Poblacion 2 [1], Poblacion 8 [2], Pulantubig [4] and Taclobo [2].
There are now 142 active COVID-19 cases with 5, 053 recoveries and 153 deaths since Dumaguete City was affected by the pandemic from January 30, 2020 to January 29, 2022.
The lone fatality reported today was a 32-year-old COVID-19 patient who died while hospitalized.
Of the 142 active COVID cases: 89 are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office, 49 are admitted in the hospitals and 4 other cases are residents outside of Dumaguete City.
