Fifty-seven (57) COVID-19 patients have already recovered and released from isolation but 77 new cases were also confirmed today.
Thus, the number of active COVID-19 cases increased to 178 with 4, 867 recoveries and 152 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to January 27, 2022.
The 57 COVID-19 recoveries are residents of barangays Bagacay [1], Bajumpandan [1], Banilad [4], Bantayan [4], Batinguel [3], Cadawinonan [3], Calindagan [1], Candau-ay [3], Cantil-e [4], Junob [2], Looc [5], Motong [5], Piapi [4], Poblacion 2 [2], Poblacion 5 [1], Poblacion 7 [1], Poblacion 8 [1], Pulantubig [1], Taclobo [7] and Talay [3].
Meanwhile, among the 77 new cases are 8 children (the youngest is a 9-month old child), 5 senior citizens and other persons who manifested Influenza Like Illness or ILI.
The barangays with most number of newly confirmed cases are Barangays Daro [17] and Bajumpandan [14] along with residents of Barangays Bagacay [1], Balugo [2], Banilad [4], Bantayan [3] Batinguel [7], Buñao [2], Cadawinonan [1], Candau-ay [2], Cantil-e [3], Junob [4], Looc [1], Mangnao [2], Piapi [1], Pulantubig [1], Tabuctubig [3], Taclobo [8 and Talay [1].
Fifty-five [55] of the 178 active COVID-19 cases are in the hospitals while the 123 others are handled and monitored by the City Health Office.
