Sixty-three (63) COVID-19 patients have already recovered and released from isolation but 26 new cases were reported today along with the death of a child while in the hospital.
Thus, the number of active COVID-19 cases dropped to 124 with 4, 728 recoveries and 152 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to January 24, 2022.
The 63 COVID-19 recoveries are residents of barangays Bagacay [5], Bajumpandan [2], Balugo [2], Banilad [3], Bantayan [5], Batinguel [6], Buñao [3], Cadawinonan [3], Calindagan [3], Camanjac [5], Candau-ay [6], Daro [4], Junob [1], Looc [1], Poblacion 2 [2], Poblacion 6 [1], Poblacion 8 [1], Pulantubig [5] and Taclobo [6].
Meanwhile, among the 26 new cases are 3 senior citizens, a child, a health worker, a bank employee and several members of the same households who are all symptomatic.
The new confirmed cases are residents of Barangays Bagacay [1], Banilad [3], Buñao [1], Calindagan [3], Daro [3], Looc [3], Motong [1], Mangnao [2], Piapi [1], Poblacion 7 [1], Poblacion 8 [1] and Taclobo [6].
Thirty-three of the 124 active COVID-19 cases are in the hospitals while the rest are handled by the City Health Office or outside of Dumaguete City.
