City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla reports that 36 COVID-19 patients have recovered but 42 new cases were also confirmed Thursday.
There are 118 active COVID-19 cases with 4, 585 recoveries and 150 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present January 20, 2022.
Forty (40) of the 42 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases are persons with symptoms of Influenza Like Illness and the remaining 2 are close contacts of previous cases.
A 2-month-old child is the youngest while an 89-year-old retiree is the oldest among the 42 new cases who are residents of Barangays Bagacay [4], Balugo [1], Banilad [3], Bantayan [1], Batinguel [1], Cadawinonan [1], Calindagan [3], Camanjac [2], Candau-ay [2], Cantil-e [2], Daro [4], Junob [3], Looc [4], Mangnao [1], Piapi [1], Poblacion 2 [1], Poblacion 6 [2], Poblacion 7 [1], Pulantubig [3] and Taclobo [2].
Meanwhile the 36 new COVID-19 recoveries are residents of Barangays Bagacay [3], Banilad [6], Bantayan [5], Batinguel [1], Camanjac [1], Candau-ay [1], Daro [5], Looc [1], Piapi [8], Poblacion 3 [1], Pulantubig [3] and Taclobo [1].
Of the 118 active COVID cases: 87 cases are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office; 15 are confined at Silliman University Medical Center; 6 are admitted at NOPH; 5 are confined at ACE Doctors; 4 are admitted at Holy Child Hospital and 1 is outside of the city.
