Fifteen (15) additional COVID-19 cases were reported by the City Health Office along with 1 recovery confirmed Wednesday.
However, 4 COVID-19 cases previously included in Dumaguete City were removed from the list as they are not residents of the city and merely traveled here for reason of work with symptoms manifesting only a few days after arrival.
There are 45 active COVID-19 cases with 4, 466 recoveries and 149 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present January 12, 2022.
The 15 new COVID-19 cases are residents of Barangay Bagacay [2], Bajumpandan [1], Buñao [1], Cantil-e [1], Daro [2], Looc [4], Poblacion 4 [1], Tabuc-tubig [2] and Taclobo [1].
Among the new cases is a 4-year-old child, a hospital worker, a graphic designer, an auditor and 11 others, who are all symptomatic.
Meanwhile, the lone COVID-19 patient who recovered today is a vaccinated post graduate intern, who will be released from isolation.
Of the 45 active COVID cases: 34 are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office, 9 are confined at Silliman University Medical Center, 1 is confined at ACE Doctors and another 1 is admitted at Holy Child Hospital.
