The number of active COVID-19 cases dropped to just 2 with 4, 463 recoveries and 148 deaths since the pandemic affected Dumaguete City from January 30, 2020 to the present January 4, 2022.
City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla also reported to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo that no new COVID-19 case was registered today in all 30 component barangays and 5 hospitals in the city.
Meanwhile, the 3 patients who recovered from COVID-19 are residents of Barangays Cadawinonan and Taclobo.
The 2 remaining active COVID-19 cases are unvaccinated residents of Barangays Motong and Talay. The 28 other barangays have no active cases as of Tuesday.
Nevertheless, Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo continues to caution the members of the public to wear face masks, practice frequent hand washing and use of disinfectants and to get vaccinated as the means to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
