City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla informed Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo that no new COVID-19 case was confirmed today in all the 30 component barangays and hospitals.
Meanwhile, a vaccinated 36-year-old resident of Barangay Balugo is the lone recovery reported and will be released from isolation.
The number of active COVID-19 cases declined to just 5, which is the lowest in many months, even as the number of vaccinated residents in the Dumaguete City has reached more than 70% of the target population.
All the 5 active cases and 1 Person Deprived of Liberty are unvaccinated, 3 of them are confined in Silliman University Medical Center and Holy Child Hospital.
There are now 4, 459 individuals who were infected but recovered from COVID-19 with 148 deaths since Dumaguete City was affected by the pandemic from January 30, 2020 to December 30, 2021.
Twenty-six (26) of the 30 component barangays report zero active cases to include: Bagacay, Bajumpandan, Balugo, Banilad, Bantayan, Batinguel, Buñao, Calindagan, Camanjac, Candau-ay, Cantil-e, Daro, Looc, Mangnao, Motong, Piapi, Poblacion 1, Poblacion 2, Poblacion 3, Poblacion 4, Poblacion 5, Poblacion 6, Poblacion 7, Poblacion 8, Pulantubig and Tabuctubig.
The remaining barangays with active COVID-19 cases are Cadawinonan [1], Junob [1], Taclobo [2] and Talay [1].
