Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo led yesterday’s ceremony in honor of the city government employees who have retired or passed away while serving the people of Dumaguete City.
The retirees and the next of kin of those who died in service were given recognition in simple rites that was also attended by Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Councilors Lilani Ramon and Michael Bandal with City HRMO Designate Dr. Dinno T. Depositario.
The retirees were recognized for their “significant impact and impression they left and contributed to the City Government of Dumaguete, its constituency and the community as a whole.”
Among the retirees recognized are Ophero A. Alabado, Maria Susan G. Aldecoa, Johnny N. Almenzo, Mary Antoniette R. Aranas, Norberta B. Awid, Nilo D. Bantilan, Felicitas A. Barba, Merlinda B. Bohol, Rolando R. Carillaga, Antonietta R. Cipres, Victorino Contemplacion Jr., Reginaldo Manolo G. Cordova, Corazon M. Cual, Maria Consuelo Fernandez, Rose Marie R. Gonzales, Charito Logronio, Edgar Logronio, Ruby Luisa C. Los Baños, Noel E. Manos Sr., Margarita M. Mendez, Catalino M. Pis-an Jr, Andrea B. Poblacion, Catalino Santillan, Maria Lucila D. Santillana, Ligaya A. Sinamban, Dr. Butler E. Talla, Mario Umbac, Marietto V. Vilan, Precioso R. Vilas Jr., Leo P. Ybañez, Wilfredo J. Palencia and Jose R. Sinapuelas.
Posthumous recognition was also bestowed to the city officials and employees who have since passed away but “faithfully served the City Government of Dumaguete and the community as a whole that time will never erase the work they accomplished and the lives they had positively impacted.”
Among those who were posthumously recognized for their service are former Vice-Mayor Alan Gel S. Cordova, Guen C. Amante, Jima C. Bato, Daisy Lourdes G. Garcia, Francisco J. Kinikito Jr., Pablito N. Lirazan, Leonora I. Macayan, Edwin C. Quirit, Bernardino A. Saracho, Ma. Wulfida C. Suasin and Omar P. Serion.
