Vice-President Leni Robredo made a quick courtesy call to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and the officials of Dumaguete City this morning before heading to Bais City and other towns severely affected by Typhoon ODETTE to bring relief supplies.
Both VP Leni and Mayor Remollo rallied all civic-minded citizens and organizations with an appeal to mobilize and contribute goods and supplies directly for the benefit of the typhoon victims.
In his briefing, Mayor Remollo noted that the city has been among the least affected LGU in Negros Oriental and will organize the distribution of relief and other forms of assistance to the most affected residents, who are now trying to rebuild their lives following the devastation caused by Typhoon ODETTE last week.
After the breakfast briefing, VP Robredo, her party and some city residents travelled north of Negros Oriental to deliver the relief and aid.
Among those who attended this morning’s briefing with Mayor Remollo are 1st District Congresswoman Josy Limkaichong, 2nd District Congressman Manuel Sagarbarria, Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Councilors Michael Bandal, Lilani Ramon, Manuel Patrimonio, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores, City Adviser on Peace and Order retired General Rey Lyndon Lawas, barangay officials, representatives of the business sector, academe, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Dumaguete City and department heads of the local government.
