The City Health Office confirms that the number of active COVID-19 cases dropped slightly to 24 after 4 patients have recovered but with 2 new cases and 1 death reported Thursday.
The 2 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases are residents of Barangays Junob and Pulantubig.
There are now 24 active COVID-19 cases with 4, 422 recoveries and 148 deaths since the pandemic affected the city from January 30, 2020 to the present December 17, 2021.
Meanwhile, 3 of the 4 new recoveries are unvaccinated individuals who are close contacts of previous cases from barangays Batinguel [2], Candau-ay [1] and [1].
The lone fatality from COVID-19 is a 54-year-old resident who was declared dead on arrival at a private hospital.
Of the 24 active COVID patients: 12 cases are monitored and handled by the personnel of the City Health Office; 5 are confined at Silliman University Medical Center; 1 is admitted at NOPH, 3 are confined at ACE Doctors while 3 are outside of Dumaguete City.
