Key departments and offices responsible for implementing programs, projects and activities under the Gender and Development fund convened recently for the year-end evaluation, assessment and planning as part of gender-sensitive monitoring to determine if the desired results are met.
Councilor Lilani Ramon, Chairperson of the Committee on Women, Children and Family Life, led the activity along with members of Gender and Development Focal Point System, who are heads of the concerned departments and offices that utilize the GAD Fund, which is 5% of the LGU’s annual budget.
Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo also reiterated his commitment to promote the mainstreaming of gender and development in the city government to empower women through training, livelihood opportunities, combat trafficking, early childhood education, profiling of child laborers and the vaccination program of the City Health Office.
GAD Focal Person Aveangel S. Alcorin facilitated the reporting of GAD accomplishments, planning and budgeting for Calendar Year 2022.
Among the offices and organizations tasked to promote gender mainstreaming are City Social Welfare Development Office, Sectoral Desk, Public Employment Service Office, City Agriculture Office, CLHIDO, City Sports and Youth Development Office, City Health Office, City Human Resource Office, OSCA, Local Youth Development Office, City Nutrition Office, City Population office and GFPS.
