The Schools Division of Dumaguete City recently recognized all the partner government agencies that collaborated with the Department of Education in various ways and means that benefitted the thousands of faculty and learners enrolled in the 18 public elementary and 7 high schools .
City Schools Division Supt. Gregorio Cyrus Elejorde awarded plaques of recognition to Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo, the City Council, 30 Punong Barangays, Dumaguete City PNP and various offices of the City Government for their joint commitment to the Department of Education by sharing their time, effort and resources, thus contributing to the successful delivery of quality basic education services.
Mayor Remollo reaffirms his commitment to invest in education by pursuing the construction of several school buildings with a total amount of P 63.2 million in 2022; the hiring of teacher-tutors for the barangays and assignment of city-paid workers to Deped schools to help improve the quality of instruction and graduates.
Among the city officials present to receive their awards, Thursday, are Vice-Mayor Karissa Tolentino-Maxino, Councilors Michael Bandal, Edgar Lentorio Jr., Manuel Patrimonio, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie Amores, City Chief-of-Police Lt. Col. Joeson B. Parallag and the 30 Punong Barangays of Dumaguete City along with Dr. Elejorde, Dr. Juditha Mapue, Dr. Nelson Caday, school principals, supervisors and staff.
