Mayor Felipe Antonio “Ipe” Remollo confirmed that the City Council has approved his request to grant P 3, 000 for each of the 1, 017 nationally paid teachers of the Department of Education in the Dumaguete City Division.
Councilor Lilani Ramon, Chairperson of the Committee on Finance and Appropriation, presented before the Council the P 3 million budget request of Mayor Remollo to fund the grant of the incentive allowance for the public school teachers as embodied in the City Development Council Executive Committee Resolution No. 2021-49.
The cash incentive will be released to the recipient teachers once all the required documents are complied, submitted and reviewed by the proper authorities.
Meanwhile, the City Bids and Awards Committee has already started the public bidding for the 64, 000 bags of rice, which according to Mayor Remollo will be distributed to the 32, 000 households within the month of December.
Each household will receive 20 kilos of rice as assistance to the residents during the COVID-19 pandemic.
