For the 5th consecutive year, Barangay Motong of Dumaguete City is again awarded as the Provincial Winner in the Search for the Most Outstanding Lupong Tagapamayapa in the Province of Negros Oriental among the component cities.
As the Provincial Winner and Regional 2nd Runner-up for the Component City category, Barangay Motong received P 45, 000 monetary prize (Provincial award), Plaques of Recognitions, and 10,000 monetary prize (Regional award).
Motong Punong Barangay and Liga ng mga Barangay President Dionie D. Amores expressed his gratitude to the Lupon members, barangay officials, barangay tanod brigade and other stakeholders for their cooperation in finding means to settle all disputes amicably between and among the parties.
The annual Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA) is one of the programs of the Department of Interior and Local Government, which provides motivation to all Lupons to further improve and strive for excellence in the performance of their mandated duties and responsibilities.
Barangay Lupons are essential in the implementation of the Katarungang Pambarangay that aims to amicably settle disputes among and between neighbors to avoid the timely and costly litigation in the regular courts while preserving peace and order.
