City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah B. Talla reports a total of 82 active COVID-19 cases in 22 of the 30 component barangays as of Sunday, December 5, 2021.
Twenty-nine or 35% of the 82 active COVID-19 cases are confined in the hospitals: 15 are admitted at Silliman University Medical Center; 9 are confined at NOPH; 1 is at ACE Doctors; 3 are in Holy Child Hospital and 1 is admitted at Negros Polymedic Hospital.
The remaining 53 active COVID-19 cases are handled and monitored by the City Health Office and Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams.
Of the 82 active COVID-19 cases only 31 were confirmed to have been vaccinated against coronavirus and will be less likely to experience severe symptoms requiring hospitalization.
Only 8 barangays (Calindagan, Junob, Poblacion 1, Poblacion 3, Poblacion 4, Poblacion 5, Poblacion 7 and Tabuctubig ) reported zero active COVID-19 cases while 8 others are managing just 1 or 2 active cases.
