Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo hosted Japanese Consul General Toshihide Kawasaki during the latter’s courtesy visit in his office to discuss further cooperation between Dumaguete City and Japan.
The Consulate-General of Japan in Cebu jurisdiction notes that Dumaguete City is home to many Japanese nationals and their families for its beautiful scenery and welcoming people.
Both Mayor Remollo and Consul General Kawasaki discuss the ongoing and completed infrastructure projects in the city to include the ongoing shoreline protection that will save the homes and lives of residents in Poblacion 1 (Tinago) from storm surges and strong waves.
Mr. Kawasaki is the first Consul General of Japan in Cebu and had always wanted to meet Mayor Remollo since his arrival in Cebu City last year but was prevented due to restrictions of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
