They started work in September, assembling our Christmas Doves to light up Dumaguete City in time for the Christmas season. Bit by bit, by hand and by sweat, they transformed welded metal into bright symbols of peace for the holidays.
Doves for our arcs, doves for our lampposts, doves for our community Christmas tree — 360 doves in all, made by our local artists from Foundation University’s College of Fine Arts, including faculty, students, and graduates — to reflect our theme for Pasko sa Dumaguete 2021: “Peace On Earth.”
Thank you, Michael Jude Millares, Jeanne Grace Alarcio, Mikoo Cataylo, An Marjo Banagua, Earl Ivann Caballes, Jemuel Cubalan, Jericho Labarento, Julbert Ramos, and Jomir Tabudlong for the hard work! Jude Millares, Jeanne Grace Alarcio, and Jana Alano contributed to the metal works design the artists used as blueprint. [Photos by Elmer Casiano]
