Representatives of the various government agencies, Silliman University and volunteer organizations convened today for a coordination meeting presided by Dr. Dinno T. Depositario, Chief-of-Staff of Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo and Atty. Maria Victoria Tiangco, representing Supreme Court Associate Justice Mario Victor F. Leonen, Chairperson of the 2020/21 Bar Examinations that will be held in Dumaguete City in January 2022.
In response to the earlier request of Justice Leonen, Mayor Remollo has pledged to provide the needed resources, traffic management, police assistance, development of a contingency plan, health protocols and ensure cooperation of the barangays for the entire duration of the exam.
The organizers of the bar examinations, particularly Silliman University and the City Government of Dumaguete will be coordinating closely with the Office of the Bar Chairperson and Office of the Bar Confidant of the Supreme Court so that all resources needed and preparations necessary for the safe and orderly conduct of the bar exams are in place.
All examinees and other authorized personnel will be required to take the RT-PCR swab test before they are allowed entry to the center consistent with the health protocols against COVID-19.
Silliman University College of Law has been selected as one of the local testing centers across the country in an “unprecedented move to meet the sign of the times, the exams will be digitalized, proctored and localized, administered not in one venue, but in several cities and municipalities.”
