The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council chaired by Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo conducted today the 1-day Incident Command System Executive Course for department heads, volunteers and staff of the CDRRMO in line with the continuing efforts to improve disaster response and coordination among various agencies and organizations during calamities and planned events.
City DRRM Officer Allen Froilan O. Cabaron II stressed that under the thematic area of Disaster Response, one of the coordinating mechanisms established is the Incident Command System to improve the activities of responders particularly in ensuring accountability, facilitating proper resource management and promoting safety as envisioned in Republic Act 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010.
Accredited instructors from the Office of Civil Defense were tapped to conduct the 1-day crash-course that highlights the core principles, features and functions of Incident Command System.
This ICS training is also in line with the preparations to the upcoming conduct of Bar Examinations by the Supreme Court in January 2021 to be held at Silliman University in Dumaguete City.
